Sunshine operates community-based residential homes serving boys and young men with varying ages, strengths, interests, and placement needs.
Our boys’ homes provide structured routines, consistent expectations, and supportive adult guidance within welcoming residential environments. Staff work to create homes where boys understand what is expected of them and have opportunities to take responsibility for their daily lives.
Each resident is treated as an individual and supported according to his age, abilities, needs, and approved plan.
Daily Life in Our Boys’ Homes
Residents may participate in:
- Predictable morning, school, and evening routines
- Age-appropriate household responsibilities
- Care of personal belongings and shared spaces
- Family-style meals
- School and homework routines

Supporting Individual Growth
Sunshine avoids assumptions about what boys should enjoy, how they should communicate, or what goals they should pursue.
Each young person is encouraged to explore his own strengths, interests, and future plans. Staff help residents practice responsibility, respectful communication, problem-solving, and age-appropriate decision-making.
Placement in a particular home is based on available capacity, household compatibility, supervision needs, and the individual circumstances of the child.
